When: November 24, 2018, 8:00 AM (briefing at 7:45 AM)
Where: Mt. Sequoyah Woods Trail. Please park in the lot at the corner of East Paddock Road and South Happy Hollow Road/Cliffs Boulevard (Google Pin Drop) and walk to the pavilion at the end of the pavement. The loop will start and end at the pavilion.
What: A six-hour timed trail event on a moderately difficult (but fun) 4ish mile loop with approx. 700ft of elevation gain; complete as many miles as you can (or want to do) in 6 hours. After 5hrs, there will be an optional shorter 0.5 mile loop you can run as many times as you can if you don’t think you can finish another full loop in time.
Why: Running is fun, especially the Saturday after Thanksgiving. You’ve just spent an entire day or two with family; they owe you this day! Also, it’s for a good cause. You possibly just stuffed your face, threw some food out, fed it to your dog, whatever. It’s time to generate some mucho Karma. This race will be supporting 7Hills Homeless Shelter. Please take a few minutes to learn about the great work this organization does and you’ll feel great about running miles for them.
Our Ask: There is no “fee” for this event, though we strongly encourage you to bring canned goods that will be 100% donated to 7Hills Homeless Shelter (below is a list of needs). These can be purchased on deal, in bulk at Sam’s Club. They’re not very expensive. I think a good rule of thumb is a can per mile (or more?!). We want to drop a car load of canned goods off that will help them through the difficult holiday months.
Needs: Canned protein (tuna, Vienna sausages, spam, chicken), canned chunky soup, canned ravioli, canned vegetables, canned fruit.
Registration: Please email Michael Hall at runyourcanoffnwa@gmail.com or if you know me personally… just let me know and I’ll add ya.
RYCO Cookie Swag: Every runner will be getting a tasty, artistically made cookie by our very own Amber Ebbrecht. Thank you Amber! Amber is super talented and has a little side hustle called Cebes Cookies – it would be super cool if you supported her small business. Check out and follow her on Instagram or Facebook.

Disclaimer: This is a no frills, put your big boy pants on event; we will have some standard ultra food setup at the start/finish area (the only aid station). You will not get a shirt, mug, jacket, buckle, medal, cow bell, or engraved anything. You will get lots of high fives, maybe a hug, encouragement, some laughs, you may get made fun of, and you’ll be surrounded by good people. Basically, if you specifically want something, bring it. We may have an award for top male and female… maybe… we’ll see… haven’t figured that out yet.
